The Seal Ensemble – General Information
The Seal Ensemble is a collaboration between soprano Amy Carson and harpist Katie Flanaghan.
Together they are exploring different musical styles that range from 17th century music for voice and lute by Dowland and Purcell, to contemporary works by composers such as Michael Berkeley and Dominick Argento. Programming includes: lieder, bel canto songs, opera arias, english song, folksong arrangements by Britten, french chansons, arias from the baroque period and lighter repertoire such as Gershwin and Novello.
In combining their unique qualities, Amy and Katie have created an unusually intimate and alluring ensemble, which strives to achieve the highest standards of performance and to appeal to a variety of audiences throughout the world.
Although predominantly appearing in recital, Amy and Katie also enjoy performing in ceremonies and at functions.
